The Ajax MotionProtect Outdoor Jeweller is a wireless outdoor motion detector for protecting the area around a building, such as yards, driveways, gardens and approaches to doors. It is intended for houses and commercial sites that want an alarm raised before an intruder reaches the walls. It is rated IP55 and environmental class IV and works between −25 °C and +60 °C.
Two PIR sensors and the LISA and SmartDetect algorithms help distinguish real intruders from interference. Detection distance is set between 3 and 15 m with a scroll bar on the enclosure, and animals under 80 cm tall are ignored. Anti-masking reports attempts to block the lens. It runs for up to five years on two CR123A batteries, or from a 5–28 V external supply with the batteries as backup.
