The Ajax Superior GlassProtect Jeweller is a wireless glass-break detector from the Superior line. It uses a microphone to recognise the sound of glass being broken, so it can raise an alarm at the point of entry rather than waiting for movement inside the room. It is intended for homes, shops and offices with windows, glazed doors or shopfronts, and it is certified to Grade 2 under EN 50131 and PD 6662.
The detector covers 180° horizontally at distances of 0.3 to 9 m, and handles standard and insulated glass of 4 mm and tempered glass of 6 mm on panes of at least 400 × 400 mm. The DualTone algorithm requires both the low-frequency impact and the high-frequency sound of breaking glass, which reduces false alarms. A terminal input accepts a third-party wired NC detector, and a CR123A battery lasts up to seven years.
