List PriceThe FortiSwitch 124E-POE is one of Fortinet's Secure Access switches, built to give small and mid-sized businesses, distributed enterprises and branch offices a secure, simple and scalable Ethernet layer. It integrates tightly with the FortiGate® Network Security Platform, so the switch can be managed directly from the familiar FortiGate interface — a single pane of glass for every user and device on the network, regardless of how they connect.
Running in FortiLink mode, network security functions are managed through one console on FortiGate, so wired and wireless users, including temporary guests, are authenticated against the same user database. The same security policy can then be applied to a user or device no matter how or where it connects.
A subset of ports deliver Power over Ethernet (185 W PoE budget on this model), enough to power access points and IP phones without separate injectors.

How is this switch managed?
The 124E-POE can be managed directly from a FortiGate firewall over FortiLink, giving a single console for switch configuration, VLANs, PoE control and spanning tree alongside your firewall policy. It can also run in standalone mode with its own CLI and web GUI, or be enrolled in FortiLAN Cloud Management for centralised, cloud-hosted administration.
FortiCare Premium vs FortiCare Elite support — what's the difference?
Both give you access to Fortinet's TAC and firmware/software updates. FortiCare Elite adds a faster target response time and enhanced hardware replacement service level over standard FortiCare Premium support, for organisations that need a tighter response commitment on this switch.

Yes. The 124E-POE provides PoE on 12 (802.3af/at) ports, with a total PoE power budget of 185 W, enough to run access points, IP phones and similar PoE-powered devices without separate injectors.
