Fortinet FortiSwitch 224E

The Fortinet FortiSwitch 224E is a Layer 2/3 secure access switch with 24 Gigabit Ethernet RJ45 ports and 4 Gigabit SFP ports, built to extend the Fortinet Security Fabric into the wiring closet. Tight integration with the FortiGate Next-Generation Firewall lets the switch be managed directly from the familiar FortiGate interface, giving a single console for both wired and wireless devices.

Running in FortiLink mode, network security and access-layer functions are configured and monitored through the FortiGate, so every user and device is authenticated against the same identity store whether it connects over the wired LAN or wirelessly, including temporary guest users, and a consistent security policy follows them regardless of how they attach to the network.

The 224E is a standard, non-PoE, 1U switch, making it a straightforward choice for wiring closets and server racks where powering downstream devices such as access points or IP phones isn't required. Where PoE-powered ports are needed, the FortiSwitch 224E-POE provides the same port count with 12 PoE+ ports.
