Tightly integrated into the Fortinet Security Fabric via FortiLink, the 424E can be managed directly from the familiar FortiGate interface. This single-pane-of-glass management gives complete visibility and control of users and devices on the network regardless of how they connect, making the 424E well suited to SD-Branch deployments that span desktop access through to data center aggregation.
FortiLink reduces complexity and management cost, as network security and access-layer functions are enabled and managed through a single console, with centralized, role-based policy management that's straightforward to implement and maintain.

Directly from the FortiGate interface over FortiLink, giving a single console for wired and wireless security and access-layer policy. A single FortiGate can manage 8 to 300 switches depending on the model.
What's the difference between FortiCare Premium and Elite support?
The 424E has published pricing for FortiCare Premium support in 1, 3 or 5 year terms. Elite-tier support pricing for this model should be confirmed at quotation.
Does the 424E support Power over Ethernet?
No. The 424E is a standard, non-PoE switch. For PoE+ powered ports on the same 24x GE RJ45 + 4x 10GE SFP+ port layout, see the FortiSwitch 424E-POE or the higher-budget 424E-FPOE.
