The Pyronix Octopus DQ is a hard-wired, ceiling-mounted quad PIR detector giving 360° coverage from above. It is designed for larger areas such as shop aisles and open-plan offices, and because it watches the whole room from the ceiling, coverage is unaffected if the furniture or layout changes. It is certified to EN 50131 Grade 2, Environmental class II, for systems installed to PD 6662.

Mounted at 4m it covers a 12m diameter circle. The quad-element sensor needs opposing detection zones to be crossed before it signals an alarm, and Pyronix Blue Wave Technology adds automatic sensitivity, digital temperature compensation and Independent Floating Thresholds to reduce false alarms. Installation uses a single screw to the base, a clip-in circuit board and on-board EOL resistors for DEOL wiring to most panels.
