The Pyronix EURO External Prox Reader (EUR-108X) lets users set and unset the alarm, or control entry, by presenting a proximity tag or card at an internal or external door. It is a wired reader that connects directly to the RS-485 bus of the control panel, and suits commercial and residential sites where users want to arm the system before going inside or on leaving.

Green and red LEDs confirm the system status when a valid tag or card is presented, and a switched negative output can drive a relay for magnetic lock control, so the reader can also deny entry to unauthorised users. It is rated to Grade 3 and environmental class IV for outdoor use.
