The Texecom Odyssey X-BD is a backlit dummy deterrent module for the Odyssey X range of external sounders. It contains no sounder, but with an Odyssey X1 or X3 cover fitted it looks like a live Odyssey X bell box, so it suits sites that want a visible deterrent on a second elevation, or a low-cost decoy where a full sounder is not needed.

The X-BD can be wired or battery powered. Wired from a 12 V supply, it drives the backlight and comfort LEDs, flashing at the same rate as Texecom wired sounders. On two AA batteries it runs the comfort LEDs only, matching the flash rate of the wireless Odyssey X-W, for a typical battery life of three to five years.
