Hardware includes 4 x 100GE/40GE QSFP28 slots, 16 x 25GE/10GE SFP28 slots, 8 x 10GE SFP+ slots, 16 x 10GE RJ45 ports, 2 x 10G SFP+ HA slots and 2 x 1G management ports, run on Fortinet's NP7 network processor (inline hardware acceleration of FortiOS functions) and CP9 content processor (accelerates inspection outside the direct traffic flow), powered by dual DC power supplies.
Rated performance includes 198 Gbps IPv4 firewall throughput, 24 Gbps IPS throughput, 19 Gbps NGFW throughput and 17 Gbps threat protection throughput, with up to 24 million concurrent sessions (40 million with the Hyperscale Firewall License) and 1 million new sessions/second (2 million with the Hyperscale Firewall License). It supports Active-Active, Active-Passive and Clustering high-availability configurations.

Hardware-only or a bundle?
Hardware-only is the FG-2600F-DC appliance on its own. The bundle options add FortiCare Premium support with either FortiGuard Unified Threat Protection (UTP) or FortiGuard Enterprise Protection, over a 1, 3 or 5 year term, so licensing and support are pre-agreed with the hardware.
What does the -DC in the name mean?
This model is built for telecom and data-centre racks running on a DC power plant, taking DC power input through its dual power supplies instead of the 100–240VAC mains supply used by the standard FortiGate 2600F.
Sizing and deployment guidance
Fortinet positions the 2600F-DC for the enterprise/cloud edge, the data-centre core, or internal network segments.
