Fortinet FortiGate 4801F-DC

The FortiGate 4800F is a chassis-class next-generation firewall built to secure hyperscale data-centre cores and hybrid IT architectures at large enterprise scale.

It is powered by AI/ML-based FortiGuard Services and the Fortinet Security Fabric platform, coordinating automated threat protection across the network, and it includes integrated Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) enforcement directly within the firewall to control and verify application access.

An optional perpetual Hyperscale Firewall License unlocks additional hardware-accelerated CGNAT features on the onboard SPU NP7 processors, covering hardware session setup, session logging and NAT.

Bundle or hardware-only?

Hardware-only ships the appliance without a support or security-service term attached, for organisations extending an existing FortiCare or FortiGuard entitlement or purchasing services separately. The bundle SKUs combine the same hardware with a fixed-term FortiCare Premium support and FortiGuard security package — Unified Threat Protection (UTP) or Enterprise Protection — over 1, 3 or 5-year terms.

What's different about the -DC version?

This FortiGate 4801F-DC is the same chassis fitted with −72V to −40V DC power supplies, drawing up to 40.94A@48VDC, for telecom and data-centre racks running DC power distribution. The standard FortiGate 4801F uses 100–240V AC power supplies (50/60 Hz, up to 8.08A@240VAC) instead, for general enterprise racks.
