The Fortinet FortiGate 70G combines a next-generation firewall, SD-WAN and security services in one compact appliance for distributed enterprise sites. It delivers 10 Gbps firewall throughput, 2 Gbps IPS throughput and 1.3 Gbps threat protection throughput across 10× GE RJ45 ports, with 1.4 million concurrent sessions and 100,000 new sessions per second.

FortiGuard AI-powered security services run on the appliance. Network and file security defends with more than 18,000 IPS signatures, AI/ML-driven packet and SSL inspection, and virtual patching for new vulnerabilities; anti-malware pairs antivirus with sandboxing, and application control adds real-time application visibility.

Web and DNS security protects against DNS-based attacks, malicious URLs, botnets and DDoS threats via DNS and URL filtering, IP reputation and anti-botnet services. The fanless desktop unit drives 7.1 Gbps of IPsec VPN, and the series includes 71G (64 GB SSD) and PoE variants.

The FortiGate 71G adds a 64 GB SSD for on-box logging. The 70G-POE and 71G-POE swap four internal ports for GE RJ45 PoE/+ ports with a 60 W total budget, powering APs, phones or cameras directly.
