The Comet is the affordable way to get hardware-level control of a computer or server from anywhere — see its real screen, type on its keyboard and move its mouse from a browser, exactly as if you were sitting in front of it. It is a one-time purchase with no subscription fees, ever, and it works without public IPs or ISP port-forwarding headaches.

Remote sessions run at up to 4K@30 FPS with H.264 hardware encoding and ultra-low 30–60 ms latency — beta testers report near-zero noticeable lag from 7,500 miles away. Because access is at BIOS/UEFI level, you can install an operating system remotely from an ISO stored on the 8 GB eMMC, transfer files even to offline devices, and pipe audio through for complete remote control.

It connects over gigabit Ethernet, powers from simple USB-C (5V/2A), and weighs just 85 g. Access it through the browser-based cloud, Tailscale, or a fully self-hosted server (firmware 1.5+) that collects no personal information — from UK stock with support from CLI Secure.

Key features

  • 4K@30 FPS video — H.264 hardware encoding with real-time 30–60 ms latency.
  • BIOS/UEFI-level access — install operating systems, change boot settings and troubleshoot without the target system being operational.
  • Remote file transfer — move files to and from the target, even when it is offline.
  • Two-way audio — remote audio output plus live voice for support calls and collaboration.
  • Browser-based access — built-in cloud service, no app installation or complex VPNs; Tailscale supported.
  • Remote power management — Wake on LAN, included ATX board, and optional Fingerbot to physically press power buttons.
  • Smart mouse controls — relative mouse mode for high-resolution screens, mouse jiggle to prevent sleep.
  • Self-hosted option — one-click deployment on Linux/Ubuntu (2 cores, 2 GB RAM); no personal data collected.
  • One-time purchase — full features up front, no subscription model.

Frequently asked questions

What is a remote KVM?

A remote KVM (keyboard, video, mouse) lets you control a computer or server from anywhere as if you were sitting in front of it — you see the screen, use the keyboard and move the mouse over the internet. IT professionals, businesses and data centres use them to troubleshoot and maintain machines without being on-site.

How is it different from TeamViewer or other remote-desktop software?

Remote-desktop software needs a working operating system and an agent installed on the target. The Comet works at the hardware level: it functions when the OS is dead or missing, gives BIOS/UEFI access, recovers from power outages, and needs nothing installed — reviewers describe it as "like TeamViewer but with no subscription model" and full features for a one-time cost.

Can I reinstall an operating system remotely?

Yes. Upload an ISO (for example Ubuntu) to the 8 GB eMMC, mount it as a virtual drive, reboot the machine and install the OS — fully remotely, without going near the computer.

Do I need a public IP or port forwarding?

No. The Comet works without public IPs or ISP port-forwarding restrictions — log in to the browser-based cloud service and take control. Tailscale is supported, and you can self-host the access server on your own Linux machine for complete independence.

How do I power a crashed machine back on?

Built-in Wake on LAN wakes PCs remotely; the included ATX board connects via USB for reliable power control; and the optional Fingerbot mechanically presses the power button — useful even for devices with no network connection.
