The Flint 3 is GL.iNet's first tri-band Wi-Fi 7 home router, built for households and small offices that want next-generation wireless without the four-figure price tag. Its three bands deliver 688 Mbps (2.4 GHz), 2,882 Mbps (5 GHz) and 5,765 Mbps (6 GHz), with Multi-Link Operation combining bands into one connection for lower latency — while 2.4 GHz stays dedicated to IoT kit.

Every one of its five Ethernet ports runs at 2.5 Gbps — a dedicated WAN plus four LAN, with LAN 1 switchable to a second WAN for dual-WAN load balancing and failover up to 5 Gbps shared bandwidth. NAS boxes, gaming rigs and streaming gear all get multi-gig wired speed, and the router handles 124+ simultaneous devices.

Security is comprehensive: 680 Mbps on both WireGuard and OpenVPN-DCO (30+ VPN providers, client and server), pre-installed AdGuard Home, Bark-powered parental controls, and AstroWarp for site-to-site networking — backed by 1 GB DDR4, 8 GB eMMC and UK stock with support from CLI Secure.

How fast is the VPN?

Up to 680 Mbps on both WireGuard and OpenVPN (with DCO kernel-level acceleration spreading encryption across CPU cores). It supports 30+ VPN providers and runs as client or server for secure remote access to your home network.

Can it keep me online if my broadband fails?

Yes. Multi-WAN failover supports dual Ethernet WAN, Wi-Fi repeater, USB tethering and cellular backup, automatically switching to a backup connection when one goes down — with load balancing across both WANs when everything is up.
