Yealink W56H DECT Handset

The W56H is Yealink's long-serving professional DECT handset — the workhorse of the range and the model Yealink itself uses as the reference handset across its cordless platforms. It gives staff a phone they can carry around the office, shop floor or stockroom while their calls stay on the business phone system.

It is an add-on handset, so it registers to a Yealink DECT base rather than working on its own. For a small office, pair it with the single-cell W70B base station (or buy the pre-bundled W76P system, which packages this exact handset with a W70B). For larger sites, the W56H is a supported handset on the W80 and W90 multi-cell systems, with seamless roaming and call handover between cells.

Does the W56H need a base station?

Yes — this is a handset only and must register to a Yealink DECT base. Use the W70B for a single-cell setup, or the W80/W90 platforms where you need multi-cell coverage across a larger building.

Is a charger included?

Yes. The box contains a charging cradle with a USB connector plus a mains-USB adapter, along with the rechargeable Li-ion battery and a belt clip.

Can it roam across a large site?

On a single W70B base, coverage is limited to that base's cell. Register the W56H to a W80 or W90 multi-cell system and calls hand over seamlessly as users move between base stations.

Is the battery replaceable?

Yes — the W56H uses a removable rechargeable Li-ion battery pack (3.7V, 1460mAh), so a worn battery can be swapped rather than replacing the handset.
