Will it create a second Wi-Fi network?
No — with EasyMesh and MPro Mesh integration it joins the gateway's network as a mesh node, so devices roam seamlessly on a single network name instead of switching between extender SSIDs.
Why does an extender need 2.5GbE ports?
Two reasons: where structured cabling exists, the extender can link back to the gateway at above-gigabit speed for maximum backhaul; and devices near the extender — TVs, consoles, desktops — can connect by wire at multi-gig rates.
Which gateway should I pair it with?
