DrayTek Vigor 2927 - Dual-WAN Gigabit VPN Router

The Vigor 2927 is a dual-Ethernet-WAN router built for the FTTP era. With two Gigabit WAN ports, hardware-accelerated throughput of up to 950 Mbps per WAN and load balancing with failover, it takes full advantage of Fibre to the Premises and Gigabit internet connections — while retaining its complete feature set of VPN, advanced routing, firewall, content filtering and bandwidth management.

It has an unusual trick for emergencies: the router can also connect out to nearby wireless networks or a mobile hotspot for internet access, giving you an improvised backup path when everything else is down. This is the wired model — pair it with a VigorAP 962c for Wi-Fi coverage and a VigorSwitch G2100 for the wired LAN.

Frequently asked questions

Is it suitable for FTTP?

Yes — that is exactly what it is designed for. The dual Gigabit Ethernet WANs handle Fibre to the Premises and Gigabit internet connections, with up to 950 Mbps of hardware-accelerated throughput per WAN.

Does it have a DSL modem?

No — the 2927 is Ethernet-WAN only, so it sits behind a fibre ONT or a separate modem. If you need an integrated VDSL2 modem, look at the Vigor 2865 series instead.

Does this model have Wi-Fi or 4G?

The standard 2927 is wired. Within the series, 'ac'/'ax' models add built-in wireless and 'L' models add an integrated 4G/LTE modem — see the 2927ax and 2927Lac.

What happens if my main line fails?

The second WAN takes over automatically thanks to failover — or run both lines together with load balancing. In a pinch, the router can even use a nearby wireless network or mobile hotspot as an emergency connection.
