DrayTek VigorAP 912C

The VigorAP 912C is a ceiling-mount dual-band 802.11ac Wave 2 access point and mesh node, built to expand wireless coverage, eliminate Wi-Fi dead zones and cut the cost of network deployments. It tackles the everyday complaints — drop-outs, stuttering video, slow downloads and weak signal — without the expense of running new cabling to every corner of the building.

In a DrayTek mesh, one access point acts as the mesh root and up to eight units form a single, easy-to-manage wireless network. It also runs happily as a traditional standalone AP or range extender, so it fits whatever the site needs. Pair it with a Vigor router such as the Vigor 2865, which can manage VigorAP units directly, or a VigorSwitch P2100 on the wired side.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a controller to run it?

No. The VigorAP 912C can run entirely standalone, or be centrally managed through VigorACS, VigorConnect or the AP management built into Vigor routers — whichever suits the size of the network.

How does the mesh work?

One VigorAP acts as the mesh root and up to eight APs in total join the mesh wirelessly. Coverage extends room by room without running Ethernet to every AP location.

Can it extend my existing Wi-Fi?

Yes — alongside mesh and AP modes it also operates as a range extender, and the Quick Start Wizard in the DrayTek Wireless app assists with either setup.

What mounting options are included?

The box contains a ceiling bracket with fixing kit, a wall-mount kit and a T-rail kit for suspended ceilings, plus a UK 12V/1A PSU and an RJ45 cable.
