The Vigor 2865 is a VDSL2 35b/ADSL2+ security firewall and VPN router — DrayTek's workhorse gateway for business sites on FTTC or ADSL lines. The integrated DSL modem is compatible with the common variants of ADSL and VDSL, including profile 35b supervectoring, so it terminates the line directly with no separate modem to manage.
Resilience is designed in: a Gigabit Ethernet WAN port can share the traffic load with the DSL line or act as a failover connection, and a 3G/4G/LTE USB modem can be attached to the USB ports for mobile-broadband backup. This is the wired model of the series — wireless and LTE editions are available — and it pairs naturally with a VigorAP 905 for Wi-Fi coverage and a VigorSwitch G2100 for extra wired ports.

Do I need a separate modem?
No — the VDSL2/ADSL2+ modem is built in and supports profile 35b supervectoring, so the router connects directly to the DSL line.
Can I add a backup internet connection?
Yes, two ways: the Gigabit Ethernet WAN port takes a second broadband feed for load sharing or failover, and the USB ports accept a 3G/4G/LTE modem for mobile backup.
Does this model have Wi-Fi?
No — the standard 2865 is wired only. The series includes models with built-in 802.11ac Wave 2 wireless, such as the Vigor 2865ax, or you can add a VigorAP access point.
