The Vigor 2865ax is the Wi-Fi 6 edition of DrayTek's 2865 security firewall router. It combines the series' VDSL2 35b/ADSL2+ modem — compatible with the common ADSL and VDSL variants, including profile 35b supervectoring — with built-in 802.11ax wireless, delivered through two detachable antennas included in the box.
As with the rest of the 2865 series, a Gigabit Ethernet WAN port can share the traffic load with the DSL line or serve as a failover connection, and the USB ports accept a 3G/4G/LTE modem for mobile-broadband backup. For larger floors, extend coverage with a VigorAP 962c ceiling AP, and add wired ports with a VigorSwitch G2100.

What is the difference between the 2865 and the 2865ax?
The routing, firewall and VPN platform is the same — the ax adds built-in Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) wireless with two detachable antennas, so one box covers line termination, routing, security and Wi-Fi.
Do I need a separate modem?
No — the VDSL2/ADSL2+ modem is built in and supports profile 35b supervectoring, so the DSL line plugs straight into the router.
Can I add a backup connection?
Yes — use the Gigabit Ethernet WAN port for a second broadband feed (load sharing or failover), or attach a 3G/4G/LTE USB modem for mobile backup.
Is a power supply included?
Yes — a 12V 2.5A PSU ships in the box along with an Ethernet cable and the two detachable Wi-Fi antennas.
