Fortinet FortiGate 701G

The Fortinet FortiGate 701G is a 1RU rack-mount next-generation firewall (NGFW) for larger enterprise networks. It combines AI/ML-based threat protection with visibility into applications, users and devices, delivering 38 Gbps IPS throughput, 29 Gbps NGFW throughput and 26 Gbps full threat protection throughput.

It runs the same AI/ML-powered FortiGuard security services and integrated Security Fabric platform as the rest of the G-series, combining edge protection, network segmentation and secure SD-WAN in a single appliance to reduce complexity across hybrid IT networks.

FortiOS runs the same policy and management framework whether deployed as a physical appliance, virtual instance, container or cloud service, so the 701G can be managed consistently alongside the rest of a Fortinet Security Fabric estate, and supports Active-Active, Active-Passive and clustering high-availability configurations.

No. This FG-701G listing is hardware only. FortiGuard IPS, application control, web filtering and the other protection services are quoted and added separately by term — 1, 3 or 5 years — to match the support level you need; call or email us with the term and services required.

FortiGate 700G or 701G?

Both share the same 1.75 x 17.0 x 13.5 inch chassis, weight and interface set. The 701G draws marginally more power (240 W / 295 W average/maximum against 230 W / 283 W) and dissipates a little more heat (1006 BTU/h against 965 BTU/h).

Is the 701G right for a larger enterprise site?
