The Puli AX (GL-XE3000) is a 5G router you can pick up and take with you. A built-in 6,400 mAh / 7.4 V / 47.4 Wh battery keeps the network running through power cuts and away from mains power, while the 5G NR modem keeps you online even if your Ethernet connection fails — a self-contained connectivity kit for work sites, vehicles and backup links.

Performance does not take a back seat to portability: Wi-Fi 6 delivers up to 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz and 2,402 Mbps on 5 GHz, the WAN port runs at up to 2.5 Gbps, and dual nano SIM slots let the router connect to whichever ISP has the stronger signal. Multi-WAN combines Ethernet, cellular, repeater and tethering with load-balancing and automatic failover.

OpenVPN and WireGuard are pre-installed with support for 30+ VPN services — up to 300 Mbps over WireGuard — and the router encrypts traffic for every connected device, including those that cannot run a VPN themselves. It runs OpenWrt 21.02 with more than 5,000 plug-ins, and GoodCloud provides remote management and data usage monitoring.

What SIM cards does it take?

It has two nano SIM card slots on a single modem. Dual-SIM standby lets the router connect to the ISP with the stronger connection, so the network stays available and reliable. It is also compatible with GL.iNet's eSIM solution (physical eSIM card paired with the firmware).

What happens if my broadband goes down?

The Puli AX supports network failover with configurable priorities across Ethernet, cellular, repeater and tethering. If the primary connection fails, it automatically switches to the next method without interruption — the 5G connection keeps you online even in the event of an Ethernet failure.

How fast is the VPN?

Up to 300 Mbps over WireGuard and 150 Mbps over OpenVPN in client mode (local network tests; server mode is slower). All traffic on the network is encrypted, including devices that cannot run a VPN app.

Are there any regional restrictions?

The cellular feature in the Puli AX is restricted in Russia, Belarus, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria and the Crimean Peninsula due to modem limitations.
