The Grandstream RPS-300W-B is the 54V 5.6A power supply for the GWN7813P PoE aggregation switch. Unlike an ordinary switch supply, this one carries the PoE budget as well as the switch's own draw — which is why it is a 300W unit rather than a 60W brick.

If a GWN7813P is powering access points, cameras or phones, this supply is the single point everything downstream depends on. That makes it the one spare worth having on the shelf: when it fails, the switch and every powered device hanging off it go down together, and a replacement ordered on the day is a replacement that arrives too late.

Frequently asked questions

Why is this so much larger than the 60W supply?

Because it powers the connected devices too. On a non-PoE switch the supply only runs the switch; on the GWN7813P it also has to deliver the PoE budget to everything plugged into it.

Can I use the 12V RPS-60W-B instead?

No. PoE devices are powered at 54V and the GWN7813P is built around that. The 12V supply is for the non-PoE models.

Will a generic 54V adapter do?

We would not advise it. Connector, polarity and sustained current rating all have to match, and an under-rated supply on a PoE switch shows up as devices dropping off under load — one of the hardest faults to trace on a network.

Does the switch need to be powered down to swap it?

Yes — and so does everything it powers. Treat it as a planned outage and warn the site before you start.

Should I keep a spare?

If the switch carries your access points or cameras, yes. This is the component whose failure takes the most with it.
