Grandstream RPS-60W-B 12V 5A Power Supply for GWN7813, GWN7831 & GWN7832

The Grandstream RPS-60W-B is the 12V 5A external power supply for the GWN7813 aggregation switch and the GWN7831 and GWN7832 switches. These are non-PoE models, so all 60W goes to the switch itself rather than to attached devices.

Two reasons to order one: a supply has failed and the switch is down, or the switch sits somewhere a failure would be expensive and a spare on the shelf is cheaper than an outage. An external brick is the part of a fanless switch most likely to fail first — it carries the mains conversion, it runs warm, and it is not protected inside the chassis.

Frequently asked questions

Will this power a GWN7813P?

No. The P model is the PoE variant and needs the 54V RPS-300W-B, which supplies the PoE budget as well as the switch. Fitting a 12V supply to a PoE switch will not work.

Can I use a generic 12V adapter instead?

We would not advise it. Connector size, polarity and current rating all have to match, and an under-rated supply on a switch shows up as intermittent reboots that are difficult to diagnose. The genuine part removes that variable.

Does the switch need to be powered down to swap it?

Changing the supply means the switch loses power, so treat it as a planned outage on anything that matters. The swap itself takes seconds.

Is a UK mains lead included?

Supplies ship with the region's lead in the standard pack. Tell us if you need a specific plug type and we will confirm before despatch.

Should I keep a spare?

On a switch that carries the site, yes. It is the cheapest insurance in the cabinet.
