Is the GS108E managed or unmanaged?

It sits in between. Out of the box it behaves like an unmanaged switch — no setup required — but Netgear's Plus web interface is there when you want VLANs, QoS or port control. There is no controller, cloud account or licence involved.

Does it support PoE?

No, the GS108E carries data only. If you need to power access points or cameras from the switch, choose the GS108LP.

Why would I want VLANs on a small network?

VLANs let one switch behave like several separate ones — for example keeping guest devices, CCTV or a till system away from your main office traffic. On the GS108E it is a few clicks in the web interface.

Is a power supply included?

Yes — the 12V mains adapter is in the box, along with a wall-mount kit and quick start guide.
