Cameras are normally powered over the network cable, which is why this adapter is usually bought for one of two reasons: a camera mounted where the switch has no PoE, or a bench test before installation. Both are worth planning for — an installer without one spends the afternoon working blind.
Use the correct adapter. Voltage and polarity vary across the Grandstream range, and a generic supply of roughly the right size can damage the camera.

Frequently asked questions
My camera supports PoE — do I need this?
Only where there is no PoE at the mounting position, or when you want to configure the camera on a bench before it goes up a ladder. The second reason is the one installers appreciate.
Can I use any adapter of the same size?
Better not to. Voltage and polarity differ across the range and the wrong supply can damage the camera.
Which cameras exactly?
The GXV3610, GXV3611 and the GXV3674 series. Other models may take a different supply — send us the model number and we will confirm before you order.
