This is the part that goes with a replacement handset. The handsets we sell are supplied without a cord, so if the old one is kinked, stretched, discoloured or simply missing, order this alongside. It is a few pounds; a second delivery is not.

It is also the cheapest fix for a fault that gets misdiagnosed as a broken phone: crackling, one-way audio or a call that drops when someone moves the handset is very often the cord, not the phone or the network.

Will it fit my phone?

Yes — it fits every model in the GXP, GXV and GRP ranges. Unlike the handsets, which are family-specific, the cord is one part for all of them.

My handset crackles — is it the cord?

Very often, yes. Crackling, one-way audio or a call that drops when the handset moves is usually a worn cord rather than a faulty phone. Swapping the cord is the cheapest test there is, and it takes seconds.

Do I need one with a replacement handset?

If your existing cord is in good condition, no — it will plug straight into the new handset. If it is kinked or stretched, order both together.

Should I keep spares?

On any site with a number of desks. Cords are the cheapest part in the building and the one most often blamed on something more expensive.
