DrayTek Vigor 2962

The Vigor 2962 is a dual-WAN load-balancing firewall and VPN router that surpasses Gigabit speeds — built to get the best out of FTTP fibre broadband and beyond. It connects to 2.5Gb Ethernet and SFP fibre, each usable for LAN or WAN, and backs that up with extensive firewall, content filtering, VPN client/server and Quality of Service controls.

Above all it is a serious VPN concentrator: 650 Mbps of SSL VPN performance, with up to 50 SSL VPN and OpenVPN users or 200 IPsec tunnels connected simultaneously. Up to 20 LAN subnets plus BGP and OSPF routing equip it for larger, more complex networks and multi-occupancy offices. It rack-mounts with the included 1U fittings and pairs naturally with a VigorSwitch G2282X and VigorAP 962c access points.

Frequently asked questions

Why choose the 2962 over a smaller Vigor router?

Scale. If you need to terminate large numbers of VPN users — up to 200 IPsec tunnels or 50 SSL VPN/OpenVPN users at 650 Mbps — or manage up to 20 subnets with BGP/OSPF, the 2962 is the right tier. For a single small office, a 2927 or 2865 is usually plenty.

Is it suitable for multi-occupancy offices?

Yes — with up to 20 LAN subnets, dynamic routing and per-subnet control it is well equipped to serve serviced offices and shared buildings.

Does it rack-mount?

Yes — 1U rack-mount fittings are included, along with an IEC C13 power cord and a 2 m Cat 5e cable.

Does it have Wi-Fi?

No — it is a wired router/concentrator. Add VigorAP access points for wireless coverage across the site.
