DrayTek VigorSwitch G1080

The VigorSwitch G1080 is a small, high-performance Gigabit smart switch for small and medium business networks that want simple management without complexity. It covers the essentials that unmanaged switches miss: VLANs to segment traffic, QoS to prioritise what matters, and Link Aggregation to bond ports into a faster uplink for high-data-volume applications.

Its compact format suits offices, shop counters and meeting rooms — anywhere a few extra Gigabit ports are needed close to the action, fed from a Vigor router such as the Vigor 2763. Smart switch or unmanaged — which do I need?

If you will ever want VLANs, traffic prioritisation or bonded uplinks, choose smart: the G1080 gives you those controls through simple management, at a price close to unmanaged hardware.

Does it support PoE?

No — the G1080 is a non-PoE switch. If you need to power access points, cameras or phones over Ethernet, look at the PoE models in the VigorSwitch range such as the PQ1070x.

What is Link Aggregation for?

It combines two or more ports into one logical link, increasing uplink speed for high-data-volume applications such as NAS access or the connection back to your core switch.

What comes in the box?

The switch and a UK power supply — everything needed to deploy it on a desk or shelf.
