TP-Link Omada SG3428XF Aggregation L2+ Non PoE Switch

The SG3428XF is an aggregation-layer Layer 2+ switch built for the core of a growing Omada network — the point where fibre uplinks from access switches and access points all come together. Four 10 Gbps SFP+ slots take that aggregated traffic without becoming the bottleneck, backed by 128 Gbps of switching capacity and dual power supplies that back each other up for uptime.

Twenty Gigabit SFP slots plus four Gigabit Combo SFP/RJ45 ports give plenty of fibre-first connectivity for distribution switches and long uplinks. It manages centrally through Omada SDN alongside PoE access switches such as the SG3428XMP, or standalone via web, CLI, SNMP and RMON.

No — the SG3428XF is a non-PoE aggregation switch, built for uplinking and distribution rather than powering endpoints. Pair it with a PoE access switch such as the SG3428XMP where PoE is needed at the edge.

Do I need an Omada controller?

No — it runs standalone via web, CLI, SNMP and RMON. Adding an Omada controller brings centralised, single-pane management across switches, APs and gateways.

What is ERPS ring protection for?

ERPS lets the switch recover rapidly from a link failure in a ring topology, keeping traffic flowing with minimal disruption — useful where switches are cabled in a loop for redundancy.
