The Fanvil X303-2-Wire solves a specific and expensive problem: buildings full of legacy two-wire telephone cabling that nobody wants to rip out. This version of the X303 takes both power and network over a 2-Wire connection, so you reuse the existing analogue wiring run-for-run and still get a modern IP phone on the desk.
The catch — and it is a fair one — is that it must connect back to a Fanvil PN8 or PN24 gateway, which converts between the 2-Wire runs and your ethernet network. Per phone you get a 2.4-inch colour display, 4 SIP accounts, HD voice, multi-party conferencing and EHS wireless headset support.

Can I plug the X303-2-Wire straight into my ethernet switch?
No. This version connects over 2-Wire only and requires a Fanvil PN8 or PN24 gateway between the phones and your network. Count your 2-Wire runs and we will size the right mix of gateways.
Does it use PoE?
Not in the conventional sense — power arrives over the same 2-Wire pair from the gateway side, which is exactly why no new cabling is needed at the desk.
Is call quality compromised by the old wiring?
No — the phone delivers HD voice over the 2-Wire link. The wiring carries a digital connection via the gateway; it is not analogue telephony.
Will it work with our hosted PBX?
Yes. Behind the gateway the X303 registers as a normal SIP endpoint with up to 4 accounts, so hosted platforms see it like any other IP phone.
