Grandstream GDS3710/GDS3705 In-Wall Mounting Kit

An in-wall mounting kit for the Grandstream GDS3705 and GDS3710 door stations — the frame that recesses the unit into the wall so it sits flush instead of standing proud on the surface.

Flush mounting is partly appearance and partly protection. A recessed panel looks built-in rather than bolted on, which matters at the entrance of a decent building. It also presents no edges to grab or pry, which matters everywhere else: a surface-mounted box can be attacked from the side, a flush one cannot.

The decision has to be made before the wall is finished. Recessing needs a cavity cut into brick or blockwork and cabling brought to it — easy during construction or rendering, disruptive afterwards. If the wall is already finished and pristine, surface mounting is usually the pragmatic answer.

Will it fit a GDS3725, GDS3726 or GDS3727?

No — those have a different body and take the GDS372x flush mount kit, listed separately. This kit is for the GDS3705 and GDS3710.

What does the wall need?

Enough depth to form a cavity for the frame, and cabling brought into it. Solid brick, block and rendered walls suit it well; a thin partition may not have the depth.

Can I retrofit it into a finished wall?

Physically yes, but it means cutting a neat cavity into finished work. On a pristine wall, weigh that against surface mounting before committing.

Is the door station included?

No — this is the mounting kit only. Order the station separately.

Does flush mounting affect the weather rating?

No — seated correctly in the frame, the station keeps its weather protection. Dress the cable entry so water cannot track into the cavity.
