Grandstream GHP630W Hotel Phone with WiFi (White)

The Grandstream GHP630W is the top hotel phone with integrated dual-band Wi-Fi 6, in white. It is the model for a property that wants the best room phone and cannot run a cable to every bedside — a listed building, a conversion, a wing that was never wired.

It adds the two things guests actually notice: a colour display showing room number, time or a welcome message, and a USB-C charging port on the phone itself, which quietly solves the most common request at reception.

Underneath: ten labelled speed dial keys and six context-sensitive soft keys, two SIP accounts, an HD speaker in the handset, 3-way conferencing, the full-band Opus codec and tolerance of up to 30% packet loss — which counts for more on wireless than on a cable.

Frequently asked questions

Does Wi-Fi 6 make a difference for a phone?

Not for bandwidth — a call needs very little. It helps because Wi-Fi 6 handles many devices on one access point far better, and a hotel floor is exactly that: dozens of guest devices competing with the phones.

Should the phones share the guest Wi-Fi?

Better not to. Put them on their own SSID or VLAN so guest traffic cannot interfere with them and the phones are not visible to guests.

Can it be powered over Ethernet?

No — the W models connect over Wi-Fi and are powered by their adapter. If the room has a network socket, the cabled GHP630 is the tidier install.

Is the USB-C port worth it?

In a bedroom, usually yes. "Do you have a charger?" is one of the most common reception requests, and a charging port on the bedside phone removes it.

GHP620W or GHP630W?

The display and the charging port. Telephony is broadly the same; the 630W is the choice when the room phone is part of the guest experience rather than just a working line.
