Grandstream GDS3726 Door Entry System

The Grandstream GDS3726 is a smart IP video door station built to be hit: an IK10 metal face, a 4MP HDR camera behind a 127° lens, and RFID, PIN, NFC, Bluetooth, QR code and app entry, all over one PoE cable.

On the camera figures, both numbers you will see quoted are correct. The sensor is 4 megapixel; the video stream it produces is 1080p. Manufacturers quote whichever suits them, which is why dealer listings appear to disagree. What matters in practice is the wide dynamic range — up to 120 dB — because a door camera spends its life pointed at a bright doorway with a dark face in front of it, and WDR is what stops every visitor becoming a silhouette.

A built-in PIR sensor covering 3 to 5 metres triggers alerts and recording before anyone presses the button, and the AI image processing does behaviour analysis on top of plain motion. Access is stored locally for up to 5,000 RFID entries, and the reader accepts both 125 kHz and 13.56 MHz cards and fobs as well as NFC — so an existing card estate usually keeps working.

Frequently asked questions

Is it 4MP or 1080p?

Both, and that is not a contradiction. The image sensor is 4 megapixel; the video it streams is 1080p. Listings quote whichever number suits them.

What does IK10 mean in practice?

It is the top impact rating in common use — the panel is built to take a deliberate blow. On an exposed street door or a school entrance that is the single most useful specification on the page.

Will my existing access cards work?

Probably. The reader handles both 125 kHz and 13.56 MHz cards and fobs as well as NFC. Send us a sample card or its part number and we will confirm before you order.

Does it need a separate door controller?

No. It holds up to 5,000 credentials on the device and drives the lock itself, so entry keeps working even if the network or the server is down.

Can staff answer the door from their phones?

Yes. As a SIP device it rings desk phones, DECT and Wi-Fi handsets and softphones, and the SecureAccess app allows remote answering and unlocking.

Why does WDR matter on a door station?

Because a door camera is almost always pointed at a bright background with a dark face in front of it. Without wide dynamic range every daytime visitor is a silhouette — which makes the recording useless for the one purpose it exists.
