Grandstream GDS3727 Door Entry System

The Grandstream GDS3727 is the wireless member of the GDS372x door station family: the same 4MP HDR camera and 127° lens, the same RFID, PIN, NFC, Bluetooth, QR and app entry, plus onboard Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth LE.

Wi-Fi on a door station solves a specific and expensive problem — getting a data cable to a gate, an outbuilding or a listed frontage where nobody will let you chase the wall. The panel still needs power, but power is usually far easier to reach than data.

The trade-off is impact rating, and it is worth understanding. This model is IK07; the wired GDS3726 is IK10. A radio has to get out of the panel, which constrains how much solid metal can sit across its face. So the wireless model is the right answer where cabling is the obstacle, and the wrong answer for an exposed street door that will be attacked. Choose on that basis, not on the Wi-Fi alone.

Frequently asked questions

Why is it IK07 when the GDS3726 is IK10?

Because the radio has to get out of the panel, which limits how much solid metal can sit across its face. If the door is exposed and likely to be attacked, choose the wired IK10 GDS3726 instead.

Does it still need a cable?

It needs power. Wi-Fi removes the data cable, not the power — and in most installs a power feed is far easier to reach than a data run.

Will the Wi-Fi be reliable at a gate?

Only if the coverage is genuinely there. A door station is fixed and unattended, so survey the actual position before committing — an outdoor access point at the building may be needed to reach it.

Is it 4MP or 1080p?

Both. The image sensor is 4 megapixel; the video it streams is 1080p. Listings quote whichever figure suits them.

Will my existing access cards work?

Probably. The reader handles 125 kHz and 13.56 MHz cards and fobs as well as NFC. Send us a sample card or its part number and we will confirm.

Does it need a separate door controller?

No. It holds up to 5,000 credentials on the device and drives the lock itself, so entry keeps working even if the network is down.
