Grandstream GDS372X Rain Cover

A rain cover for the Grandstream GDS372x door stations — a hood that sits over the panel and keeps direct rain off its face.

The door station is already weatherproof; the cover is for the picture, not the electronics. A GDS372x survives rain without help. What suffers is the camera image: raindrops on the lens blur every visitor into a smear, water running down the face streaks the view, and in winter a wet panel is the one that ices over. A hood over the top keeps the lens dry, which is the difference between video door entry and an expensive doorbell.

It also keeps rain off the screen and reader area, so visitors using the keypad or presenting a card are not doing it through running water. On any exposed elevation — and especially one facing the prevailing weather — it is the cheapest improvement you can make to a door entry installation.

Is the door station not waterproof without it?

It is — the GDS372x range is weather-rated. The cover protects the image and the user experience, not the electronics: a dry lens sees, a wet one smears.

Which models does it fit?

The GDS372x family — GDS3725, GDS3726 and GDS3727. The older GDS3705 and GDS3710 have a different body.

Does it work with the flush mount kit?

Tell us which mounting you are using when you order and we will confirm the combination — surface and flush installs sit differently against the wall.

Will it obstruct the camera?

No — it is made for this body and sits above the lens line, shading it the way a porch would.

Is it worth it under a porch?

Usually not — the porch is already doing the job. It earns its keep on a bare wall, a gate post or a fence line.
