Grandstream GDS3725 Door Entry System

The Grandstream GDS3725 is the current generation of smart video door station: a 1080p camera on a 152-degree wide-angle lens, a SIP intercom, and an access control reader that accepts far more than a card.

Seven ways to open the door is what separates it from an older door station: PIN codes, RFID cards and stickers, NFC, Bluetooth, the SecureAccess app, QR codes, and a SIP call. That matters most for the awkward cases — a contractor who needs access for one afternoon gets a temporary QR code rather than a card somebody has to remember to take back.

AI ISP image processing and white LED fill lights keep the picture usable in poor light — the datasheet quotes clear visibility up to three metres from the panel in extremely low light, which is the situation a door camera is actually in most of the year.

The relay is worth noting too: it is a solid state relay, so there is no electromagnetic interference from the door release clicking, and nothing mechanical to wear out.

Frequently asked questions

Why does the number of access methods matter?

Because the difficult cases are never the staff. A contractor for one afternoon, a delivery driver, a cleaner twice a week — handing each of those a physical card creates a card you have to chase back. A time-limited QR code or app credential expires on its own.

What does someone at the door actually see and hear?

They press the call button and it rings your phones. On a video phone the person answering sees them; on an audio phone they just talk. Either way the door can be released from the handset.

Will the picture be usable at night?

It has white LED fill lights and AI image processing, and the datasheet quotes clear visibility up to about three metres from the panel in extremely low light. Beyond that distance, expect what any door camera gives you — a shape rather than a face.

GDS3725 or GDS3710?

Access methods and image processing. The 3710 has a wider 180-degree lens and does the core job well; the 3725 adds NFC, Bluetooth, app and QR access, temporary credentials, and better low-light handling. If you regularly grant short-term access, the 3725 pays for itself in cards not chased.

Do I need a Grandstream phone system?

No — it is a standards-based SIP device and will register to most systems. It is at its best on a Grandstream UCM with Grandstream video phones, where video and door release are already integrated.

What is a solid state relay and why care?

It switches the door release electronically rather than with a mechanical contact. No arcing, no electromagnetic interference into nearby cabling, and no contact to wear out on a door used hundreds of times a day.
