Grandstream GS-POE15W-MG PoE Injector 15W

The Grandstream GS-POE15W-MG is an 802.3af PoE injector — the answer when one phone, camera or access point needs power down the network cable and there is no PoE switch to give it.

An injector solves a one-device problem. Data comes in one port, data-plus-power leaves the other, and the powered device at the far end never knows a switch was not involved. The 802.3af class covers the everyday end of the catalogue: desk phones, intercoms, standard access points, fixed cameras.

Match the device's PoE class before buying. A PoE+ (802.3at) access point will not run from an 802.3af injector — that is the 30 W model's job. The device datasheet states its class; when in doubt, ask us with the model number.

Frequently asked questions

Will it power my access point?

Only if the access point is 802.3af. Many are 802.3at PoE+ — check the datasheet, and if it says at/PoE+, buy the 30 W model instead. An underpowered device may not boot, or worse, may boot and misbehave.

Does it slow the connection down?

No — the ports pass traffic at up to 2.5G, so even a multi-gig access point link crosses the injector without a bottleneck.

Injector or PoE switch?

One or two devices: injectors. More: a PoE switch — cheaper per port, tidier, and one place to look when something loses power.

Injector or the phone's mains adapter?

Same result, different place for the plug. The injector keeps the mains socket at the cabinet end and sends power down the data cable — useful when there is no socket at the device end.
