Grandstream GS-POE60W PoE Injector 60W

The Grandstream GS-POE60W is a 60 W PoE injector — the biggest of Grandstream's injectors, for the one device on the site that needs serious power down the network cable and has no PoE switch to give it.

An injector solves a one-device problem. Data comes in one port, data-plus-power leaves the other, and the powered device at the far end never knows a switch was not involved. Sixty watts at 802.3bt covers the hungry end of the catalogue — high-power access points, larger pan-tilt cameras, video endpoints — and because it also speaks 802.3af and 802.3at, it powers the modest devices too.

Count the devices before choosing injectors. One or two, injectors are the cheap and sensible answer. More than that, a PoE switch costs less per port and puts all the power in one place — we say the same thing on the switch pages in reverse.

Frequently asked questions

Which injector do I need?

Match the device's PoE class, not its plug. 802.3af devices (most phones) are fine on the 15 W; 802.3at PoE+ devices (most access points, PTZ cameras) need the 30 W; 802.3bt devices need this one. The device datasheet states its class — or send us the model and we will check.

Will 60 W hurt a small device?

No. PoE negotiates — the device draws what it needs and the injector supplies no more. Oversizing the injector is safe; undersizing it is the mistake that costs a second purchase.

Does it slow the connection down?

No — the ports pass traffic at up to 10G, so even a multi-gig link crosses the injector without a bottleneck.

Injector or PoE switch?

One or two devices: injectors. More: a PoE switch — cheaper per port, tidier, and one place to look when something loses power.
