Grandstream GSC3505 One-Way Public Address SIP Speaker

The Grandstream GSC3505 is a one-way public address SIP speaker: an 8 W high-fidelity HD speaker for announcements, with no microphone.

One-way is a choice, not a limitation — make it deliberately. If all you need is to announce something to a space, this is cheaper than a talk-back speaker and there is nothing on it to misuse. If anyone will ever need to answer — a call point, an assistance button, a stockroom where someone should reply — you want the two-way GSC3510 instead, and finding that out after installation is expensive.

Connectivity is generous for a speaker: a 100 Mbps port with PoE and PoE+, dual-band 2.4G and 5G Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and a multi-purpose input port. The Wi-Fi matters most — it lets a speaker go where there is no network socket.

Frequently asked questions

Can people answer an announcement?

No — this model has no microphone. That is the difference between it and the GSC3510, and it is the one thing worth being certain about before ordering. A call point or an assistance button needs the two-way model.

Is 8 W loud enough?

For a shop, a corridor or an office, yes. For a workshop with machinery running, look at the 15 W GSC3516; for a yard or loading bay, the 50 W GSC3518HS horn.

How many do I need?

One per area that needs to hear the announcement, not one per square metre. Speakers can be grouped and paged by zone, so plan by zones rather than by rooms.

Do I have to use the Wi-Fi?

No — the network port with PoE is the tidier install where a cable exists. The Wi-Fi is there for the positions where it does not.

Can I page it from a desk phone?

Yes. It registers as a SIP device, so dialling it from a desk phone opens the announcement.
