Grandstream GWN7822P 24-Port Layer 3 Multi-Gigabit PoE++ Switch with 4 × 10G SFP+

The Grandstream GWN7822P is a 24-port Layer 3 managed PoE++ switch that mixes port speeds deliberately: sixteen Gigabit ports for desk kit, and eight 2.5G ports for the devices that need more — Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 7 access points that would otherwise be throttled by a Gigabit link. Four 10G SFP+ slots take the uplink into the core.

PoE++ delivers up to 60W on the 2.5G ports and 30W on the Gigabit ports, from a 360W budget. That is enough headroom for high-power access points, PTZ cameras and video door entry units alongside ordinary phones and desk devices.

Being Layer 3, it routes between VLANs on its own — voice, CCTV, guest Wi-Fi and office data stay separated without pushing every packet up to a router. Management runs from GWN.Cloud, the local web interface, or over SNMP and CLI.

Frequently asked questions

Why are only eight ports 2.5G?

Because most devices do not need it. Desk phones, printers and desktops are fine on Gigabit; it is access points that saturate a Gigabit link. Paying for 24 multi-gigabit ports when eight are needed is wasted budget, and this layout puts the money where it does something.

How many devices will the 360W budget run?

It depends on what each one draws. A typical Wi-Fi 6 access point takes 15–25W, a desk phone 5–7W, a PTZ camera considerably more. Send us your device list and we will confirm the budget fits before you order.

Do I still need a router behind it?

For routing between your own VLANs, no — the GWN7822P does that itself. You will still need a router or firewall for the internet connection and for security policy between the LAN and the outside world.

Can it be managed without a cloud account?

Yes. It has a full local web interface plus SNMP and CLI, so it can run entirely on-premises. GWN.Cloud is optional and most useful across multiple sites.

What goes in the SFP+ slots?
