Grandstream HT801-V2 1-Port FXS ATA Telephone Adaptor

The Grandstream HT801 v2 is a single-port analogue telephone adapter — the small box that keeps one analogue device working after the phone line has gone. A corded phone, a fax machine, a lift emergency phone or an alarm dialler plugs into its FXS port, and the HT801 v2 registers that device to your SIP platform as an ordinary extension.

It is the current hardware revision of Grandstream's most widely deployed ATA, and the one we hold in depth. Its usual job is the awkward leftover in an otherwise finished VoIP migration: every desk is on an IP phone, the ISDN line is cancelled, and one device remains that nobody can replace — a door phone, a paging amplifier, a machine that only speaks analogue.

Being a single-port unit with one 10/100 network port and no router, it is deliberately simple. Where you need two lines, a Gigabit link or a NAT router behind it, the HT802 v2 and HT812 v2 step up in that order.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between the HT801 and the HT801 v2?

The v2 is the current hardware revision of the same single-port adapter and the one still in production. Configuration and provisioning are unchanged, so it drops into an existing estate alongside older units.

How many analogue devices will it take?

One. For two, the HT802 v2 gives you two FXS ports in the same box; beyond that look at the HT814 v2, HT818 v2 or a GXW gateway. We stock the range — tell us the device count.

Does it have a router?

No. The HT801 v2 has a single 10/100 Ethernet port and sits on your existing network. If you need the adapter to route — a small site with nothing else behind it — the HT812 v2 adds two Gigabit ports and a NAT router.

Will my fax machine actually work?

It supports T.38 fax relay, which is the correct mechanism, and it works well on a stable connection. Fax over IP is still less forgiving than fax over copper — if the fax is business-critical, tell us and we will talk through the options honestly.

Does it power the analogue phone?

Yes. The FXS port provides line voltage and ring current, so a standard corded phone rings and works as it always did.

Can it be deployed without visiting site?

Yes — that is what it is built for. TR-069 and GDMS bring units online from the box, which is why this model goes out in volume to service providers.
