Grandstream HT802-V2 2-Port ATA Telephone Adaptor

The Grandstream HT802 v2 is a two-port analogue telephone adapter. Two independent FXS ports each take a standard analogue device — a corded phone, a fax machine, a door phone, an alarm dialler — and each registers to your SIP platform as its own extension with its own number.

Two ports is the sweet spot for the majority of migrations. A small office typically has exactly two things that cannot move to IP: the fax and the lift phone, or the alarm dialler and the back-office handset. One HT802 v2 covers both for less than the cost of replacing either.

Like the HT801 v2 it has a single 10/100 network port and no router, so it joins an existing network rather than running one. Where the site needs the adapter to route, or needs a Gigabit link, the HT812 v2 offers the same two ports with two Gigabit ports and a NAT router.

Frequently asked questions

Can the two ports have different phone numbers?

Yes. Each FXS port has its own SIP profile, so they can register as two separate extensions — and if you need it, to two entirely different platforms.

What is the difference between the HT802 and the HT802 v2?

The v2 is the current hardware revision of the same two-port adapter. Configuration and provisioning are unchanged, so it sits alongside older units in an existing estate.

Does it have a router?

No. It has one 10/100 Ethernet port and joins your existing network. The HT812 v2 is the model to choose when you need two Gigabit ports and a NAT router.

Will my fax machine actually work?

It supports T.38 fax relay, which is the right mechanism, and works well on a stable connection. Fax over IP remains less forgiving than fax over copper — if the fax matters commercially, talk to us first.

Can I put a fax on one port and a phone on the other?

Yes, and it is the most common way these are used. The ports are independent, so the fax port can be tuned for T.38 while the other carries ordinary voice.

Can it be deployed without visiting site?

Yes. TR-069 and GDMS bring units online from the box, which is why this model ships in volume to service providers.
