These are the phones on reception, dispatch and supervisor desks: big screens, many keys, often an extension module beside them. They draw more than a basic handset, and they are the ones most likely to be relocated when a team is reorganised — which is when a desk with no PoE becomes a problem.

Use the correct adapter. Voltage and polarity vary across the Grandstream range, and these are not cheap phones to risk on a generic supply.

Frequently asked questions

My phone supports PoE — do I need this?

Only where the desk has no PoE, which is usually discovered when a phone is moved. On a site that rearranges desks, a couple of spares saves a lot of standing around.

Does an extension module change the power requirement?

Extension modules draw from the phone, so a phone carrying one or more has less headroom on PoE. If a desk has a phone plus modules and is misbehaving, mains power is the first thing to try.

Can I use any adapter of the same size?

Better not to. Voltage and polarity differ across the range and the wrong supply can damage the phone.

Does it fit the GXP2130 or GXP2135?

Those take a different supply — we stock it separately. Send us the model number if you are unsure.
