The Snom D815W is the step-up model in the D8xx series and the one to specify where there is no Ethernet drop at the desk: WiFi 5 (802.11ac) is built in, so serviced offices, temporary desks and listed buildings with awkward cabling all become straightforward.
The 5-inch display is the largest in its bracket and drives ten SmartLabel keys — 40 assignments over four pages — while two USB ports take headsets and accessories. If the desk has good cabling and doesn't need WiFi, the D812 saves money; for an adjustable screen and Bluetooth, look at the D865.
Note the power planning: on WiFi there is no PoE, and no PSU is included — order the adapter with the phone.

Frequently asked questions
How is it powered on WiFi?
Via a mains PSU — which is not in the box ("no PSU" is literal). If you are deploying over WiFi, order the power supply at the same time. On Ethernet, PoE works as usual.
Is WiFi call quality reliable?
On a properly run business WLAN, yes — WiFi 5 has ample bandwidth for voice. Give voice traffic a sensible QoS/SSID policy as you would any wireless endpoint.
Will it work with my hosted PBX?
Yes — standards-based SIP with provisioning support on the mainstream hosted platforms. We will confirm your platform first.
D815W or D865?
D815W for WiFi desks needing lots of keys at a mid price; D865 adds the tilt-adjustable screen, Bluetooth and dual-band WiFi for executive desks.
