TP-Link Omada ER7212PC Integrated Router

The Omada ER7212PC rolls a VPN gateway and a PoE switch into one fanless desktop unit, which makes it a tidy answer for small offices, shops and branch sites that want a single box at the head of the network. A dual-core 1.2 GHz CPU and 1 GB of DDR3 keep routing, VPN and captive-portal duties running smoothly.

On the WAN side it offers two Gigabit SFP WAN/LAN ports, one Gigabit RJ45 WAN port and one Gigabit RJ45 WAN/LAN port, with load balancing across links; on the LAN side, eight Gigabit ports supply 802.3af/at PoE from a 110 W budget. That is enough to power a ceiling of Omada access points such as the EAP610 or EAP650 directly from the router, with no separate PoE switch needed.

If you have already got PoE switching in place and only need routing, look at the Omada ER7206; for 10G head-end routing, step up to the ER8411.
