TP-Link Omada Wall Access Point EAP615

The EAP615-Wall is the Omada answer to hotel rooms, student accommodation and serviced offices: an AX1800 Wi-Fi 6 wall-plate access point that fits a standard junction box and turns one wall socket into fast wireless plus three wired ports. Simultaneous 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz and 1201 Mbps on 5 GHz total 1775 Mbps.

Its four Gigabit ports (one uplink, three downlink) mean the room's TV, desk phone or set-top box wire straight in, and one downlink offers PoE pass-through to power a wired device. Feed it 802.3af/at PoE from a switch such as the Omada SG2016P, and manage a whole corridor of them through Omada SDN with an OC200 controller. Need more headline speed per room? Frequently asked questions

How is it powered?

Over the Ethernet uplink using standard 802.3af or 802.3at PoE — no local power socket needed. Any PoE switch port or injector will do.

What is PoE pass-through for?

One of the three downlink ports can pass PoE onward, so a wired device such as an IP phone in the room can be powered without its own PSU. This needs sufficient PoE budget at the feeding switch.

Does it need an Omada controller?

No — it works standalone. In hotels and multi-room deployments, though, an OC200 or software controller makes configuring dozens of identical wall APs dramatically quicker.

Will it fit my back box?

It is designed for 86 mm, EU and US standard junction boxes, which covers typical UK installs.
