Grandstream GDS37XX L-Type Bracket

The L-type bracket for the Grandstream GDS37XX door entry range — an angled mounting bracket that turns the door station to face where people actually stand.

This is not cosmetic. A door station mounted flat against a wall beside a gate, a recessed entrance or a vehicle lane points at the wall opposite, not at the visitor. The camera sees an ear, or nothing. The L bracket angles the unit so the lens covers the approach and the person pressing the button is in the middle of the frame rather than at the edge of it.

It is the kind of part that gets ordered on the second visit. If the door position is anything other than square-on to the approach, order it with the door station.

How do I know if I need it?

Stand where a visitor would stand and look at the wall the panel is going on. If you are not square in front of it, the camera will not see you properly. That is the whole test.

Can I not just pack it out with washers?

You can, and installers do, but it leaves a gap for water and insects behind an outdoor panel and it never looks right. The bracket is designed for the job.
