Grandstream DP730 DECT HD Phone

The Grandstream DP730 is the long-range handset of the DP7xx DECT family. It reaches up to 400 metres outdoors and around 50 metres indoors from its base station, and it carries a 2.4-inch colour display with three programmable soft keys — the model to choose when the site is larger than a shop floor, or when the person carrying it needs to read a directory rather than just a caller ID.

Each handset supports up to ten SIP accounts and two concurrent calls, so one person can hold a call and take a second without a second device. A 3.5mm headset jack, a speakerphone and push-to-talk cover the usual working patterns, and full HD audio keeps speech clear.

It needs a base station. A DP730 on its own is not a working phone — it registers to a DP750 or DP752, and up to five handsets share one base. If you are starting a system from scratch, order both.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use it without a base station?

No. The handset is only half the system — it registers to a DP750 or DP752. If you are ordering a first cordless phone, make sure a base is on the order too; it is the most common thing missed.

Will it really reach 400 metres?

Outdoors with clear line of sight, yes. Indoors expect around 50 metres, and less through solid walls, between floors or across steel racking. If range is the point of the purchase, tell us the building rather than the square footage — a DP760 repeater is often the cheaper answer to a difficult corner.

How is it different from the DP722?

Range and screen. The DP730 reaches 400 metres instead of 350 and has a 2.4-inch colour display with three soft keys, where the DP722 has a smaller screen. Telephony is the same on both: ten SIP accounts, two concurrent calls.

How many handsets can share one base?

Five, with ten SIP accounts between them. A sixth handset means a second base station.

Is it suitable for outdoor or wet work?

It has no ingress protection rating. For weather, dust or wash-down at the same 400 metres, the DP735 is the IP67 version of this handset.

Can I mix DP730 and DP722 handsets on one base?

Yes. The base does not care which DP7xx handsets register to it, so you can give the people who cover ground a DP730 and leave the desk-bound staff on a DP722.
