Grandstream DP752 Long-Range DECT Base Station

The Grandstream DP752 is the long-range DECT base station. Like any base it makes no calls itself — it is the network connection and the radio, and DP7xx handsets register to it. What separates it from the DP750 is reach: this is the one to specify when the handsets have to work at the far end of a yard, a warehouse or a site with outbuildings.

It carries up to five handsets, ten SIP accounts and five concurrent calls, so every handset on the base can be in use at once. Integrated PoE means the base takes power from the network cable, which matters when the best radio position is a ceiling or a high wall with no socket near it.

Choose DECT over Wi-Fi handsets when there is no business-grade wireless, or when the wireless is already carrying the data load. DECT runs on its own band reserved for cordless telephony, so it neither competes with laptops for airtime nor depends on access points being configured for roaming.

Frequently asked questions

How is it different from the DP750?

Range. Capacity is the same — five handsets, ten accounts, five concurrent calls. If the handsets never leave a normal office footprint, the DP750 does the same job for less; if they go out into a yard or across a site, the DP752 is the one that keeps them connected.

How far will it actually reach?

Range depends on the handset as well as the base: 400 metres outdoors with a DP730, DP725 or DP735, 350 metres with a DP722 or DP720, and around 50 metres indoors. Those are open-air figures — walls, floors and steel racking cut them hard. Tell us the building and we will give you a realistic answer.

Does it make calls on its own?

No. Base plus at least one handset makes a working system, and they are sold separately.

Can I extend it further?

Yes — a DP760 repeater carries the signal into an outbuilding or a dead corner, usually for less than a second base station.

Do I need a power supply?

Not on a PoE switch port. That is deliberately useful here: the best radio position is often a ceiling or a high wall, where a mains socket is exactly what you do not have.

Can I mix handset models on one base?

Yes. Give the person walking the yard a DP730, the person on the counter a DP722, and register both to the same base.
