Grandstream DP755 Long Range DECT Base Station

The Grandstream DP755 is the large DECT base station: up to 10 handsets and 20 SIP accounts — double the DP750 and DP752 on both counts.

That doubling is the whole reason to buy it. A DP750 or DP752 stops at five handsets and ten accounts; a sixth handset means a second base station, a second registration set and a second thing to manage. The DP755 takes a team of ten on one base, with 20 lines per handset.

Range depends on the handset, as always: up to 400 metres outdoors with a DP730, up to 350 metres with a DP722 or DP720, and around 50 metres indoors. It pairs with the DP730, DP722 and DP720.

It makes no calls on its own. A base station is half a system — handsets are sold separately. If you are starting from scratch, order both.

Frequently asked questions

Why choose this over a DP752?

Handset and account count. The DP752 tops out at five handsets and ten SIP accounts; this takes ten and twenty. If you are at four handsets and growing, buying the DP755 now avoids buying a second base later — and one base is always simpler than two.

Does it come with handsets?

No. A base station makes no calls on its own; handsets are ordered separately. It is the most common thing missed on a first DECT order.

Which handsets does it take?

The DP730, DP722 and DP720. You can mix them — give the people who cover ground a DP730 for the extra range and leave the rest on a DP722.

Will it really reach 400 metres?

Outdoors with clear line of sight and a DP730, roughly. Indoors expect around 50 metres, and less through solid walls, between floors or across steel racking. Range is a property of the handset as much as the base.

What if ten handsets is not enough?

A second base station. But before that, check whether the problem is actually coverage rather than capacity — a DP760 repeater extends reach for far less than a second base.

Is it powered over Ethernet?

Yes — one cable to wherever the base is mounted, no socket needed there.
